Have You Encountered Message Believers?

Posted on 21 July, 2017 at 9:55 Comments comments (4)
Have you been upset by teaching called The Message?
They are followers of a 'prophet' William Branham who often
refer to themselves as 'Bible Believers'.

Branham made some  outrageous claims  that his followers  believe without question
because they have been taught to believe their prophet  could not say or do  anything wrong. Even to the extent that his words are placed on  equal footing to the Bible.
They claim that their prophet was "Elijah come again", a misquote of Scripture
because The Lord Himself said that "Elijah has already come and they did not
recognize him" (Mt 17:12) in reference to  John the Baptist.  Message Believers would have you believe John the Baptist came again as William Marion Branham.

This Christian cult seeks mostly to 'convert' Christians to their way of believing, that is to change your allegiance from Christ Alone to Branham if possible. That depends on you, my friend, on how strong your allegiance to JESUS is and if you are easily persuaded. Even though they claim to be 'Bible Believers", most of them don't really know their Bible really well - they're accustomed to hearing WMBs taped sermons - referred to as the Spoken Word - over and over to the point of brainwashing, not too dissimilar to Islam and Communism. So you are dealing with a  strong delusion  here - anyone who is deluded by anything in this world, has  an inability  to see anything but that which takes up their mental real-estate. Sad to say, there is no reason to be found with them. I really feel for family members, I also am one.

It is right to inform you that some Message Believers are trained how to counter any arguments (reasoning) with misuse of certain verses of Scripture, just like JWs (Jehovah's Witnesses) do. And just like JWs, they choose to tackle you on their ground instead of yours! They keep defaulting to theirs!

Both these groups of people are highly skilled in defending their doctrines, to a landslide, if you are not careful. If you are caught off guard, they know how to back you into a corner with certain statements and questions that are designed to find a chink in your armor if you are not skilled for such events.

It has been well established that William Branham, like Joseph Smith (who started the Mormons) and Mohamed who started Islam (Muslims) sought for truth and found a LIE. Each one of them spoke evil things about the CHURCH (Body of Christ) and claimed to be GOD's VOICE to us.

Branham said he was a  Major Prophet  to the Church and End-Time.

Our Bible speaks of two dispensations - Old Testament, where God governed His people through Major Prophets (in the Bible) and New Testament, where JESUS is the PROPHET, PRIEST and KING to ALL BELIEVERS.
HE ALONE has the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES and is THE HEAD OF ALL RULE AND AUTHORITY and is OVER ALL THINGS PERTAINING TO THE CHURCH.

So excuse me, Branham was no more commissioned to run the CHURCH than Constantine or the Popes!

In fact, it was prophesied 3x before his death that God was going to take him out. One of those prophetic words said "because he is destroying My Church!" He brought so much division and confusion - the Apostle Paul said in Scripture to "mark those who cause division and strife among you" and he also said that "The Lord is not a God of confusion but a God of Peace".

Friends, the Holy Scripture says to "LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND ALL YOUR MIND AND ALL YOUR WILL". How can you do this with divided affections? Most Message Believers I have encountered over 40+ years, speak with more affection for their prophet than they do for The Lord - sorry to say that but they do.

A family member and myself attended a service for a loved one recently who has just gone to The Lord. They even brought up the name William Branham at the service that was held in the honor of our loved one to celebrate her life. Two people (separately) approached the family member who attended with me, with the words "have you heard of William Branham?", when we're in grieving. And another one went to impose his religious persuasion on me over the phone a week later, to the point that his words were out of control, when I stated gently but firmly, that my allegiance is to Christ, so I did not want to discuss it. He was so obsessed with his intentions that he continued to persuade me, even against my loved one's wishes when I said that "she did not force feed her beliefs on anyone." He did not even stop in respect to her memory.
I had to opt out of that phone call literally and he called me rude in a text afterwards.

Really? Yes!
Even though I know my ground and did not enter into discussion, he kept calling me out to play, and it really did not mix with grieving at all. Some weeks later, I feel to caution my readers, not to engage in discussions that will end up upsetting you - these well meaning people are known for causing distress to those around them, especially family members who do not share their belief structure. Do be informed.

A few things for you to Consider:

The Old Testament offices of priests and prophets were forever changed at Calvary when Jesus Christ said, It is finished” (John 19:30). No longer would priests offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. No longer would prophets stand in the gap for God's people. No longer would God lead his people by the hands of the prophets, or speak to his people as “in time past." The apostle Paul said, “God, who at certain times and in various manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son” (Heb. 1:1,2).

In fact JESUS distinctly says in Scripture
"The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it." Luke 16:16
So there are No More Major Prophets!
Jesus opened up a whole New Dispensation and New Covenant with us
when He shed His precious Blood and Rose Again.

The apostle John said, “These things I have written to you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which you have received of Him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you:” (I John 2:26,27). Jesus said, It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God.” (John 6:45). “And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.”
(Heb. 8:11). Jesus said that when the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth:” (John 16:13). All believers are now “kings and priests unto God” (Rev. 1:6). This is the New Testament priesthood of all believers. The apostle Peter said that “you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood” (I Peter 2:9).

In 1928, Evangelist Donald Gee said,

A careful study of the New Testament will reveal that the Early Church NEVER placed utterances through their prophets on a level with the Scriptures. Note carefully the distinctive phrase used in 2 Peter 1:21 to describe the latter—‘prophecy of the Scripture.’ See again the decision of Acts 15:28, where the difficulty was NOT solved by reference to the accredited prophets present (Barnabas, Judas, Silas, etc.), but by reference to the Old Testament Scriptures.” (Montanism, Donald Gee, 1928)

Many of William Branham's teachings revealed his delusional thinking. Branham taught that the Holy Bible (KJV) had errors and that God was giving him (Branham) the “correct” interpretation (the Bible calls this “private interpretation2 Peter 1:20). What better way to deceive people than to tell them that they don't really have the pure words of the Lord in our English preserved Bible. (Ps.12:6; Prov. 30:5).

A common characteristic among ALL cults and deceivers and false religions is to explicitly or subtly move authority away from the Bible to another source (a man, a vision, a confirmation in the heart or some book) in order to supersede the authority of the Holy Bible. From Genesis 3:1 in the garden of Eden where the serpent said, “Has God said . . ?” to the present day cults whose leader's words overrule the written word of God, Satan's methods of deception – to cast doubts on the Scriptureshave not changed. Notice that when the serpent first deceived man the temptation was not to be evil but to be good, to “be as gods
(Gen. 3:1-5). This is why almost all cult leaders and false prophets have a deity complex,
to “be as gods”, to be “like the most High”, to be reverenced and feared by their followers
(Isa. 14:14; 3 John 1:9).

William Branham believed that he was God's “mouthpiece” and that God was using him in much the same way as the Old Testament prophets. However, the “mouthpiece of God” theology was not original to Branham. Joseph Smith, who founded the Mormon church in 1830, claimed repeated “revelations” from God. Smith's newly formed church was given a “revelation” from God to accept his [Smith's] ). But even Joseph Smith was not the originator of this myth, as other cult leaders, before and after Joseph Smith, claimed this divine authority. William Branham said, “Now, I'm just your brother, by the grace of God. But when the Angel of The Lord moves down, it becomes then a Voice of God to you..... But I am God's Voice to you..... Now, see, I can say nothing in myself. But what He shows me.” (William Branham, Footprints
On The Sands Of Time, p. 214).

Donald Gee said that a “careful study of the New Testament will reveal that the Early Church NEVER placed utterances through their prophets on a level with Scripture. Note carefully the distinctive phrase used in 2 Peter 1:21 to describe the latter—‘prophecy of the Scripture’ See again the decision of Acts 15:28, where the difficulty was NOT solved by reference to the accredited prophets present (Barnabas, Judas, Silas, etc.), but by reference
to the Old Testament Scriptures.

The infallibility of prophets in the Early Church is strictly denied (I Cor. 14:20). Does this emaciate our conception of the nature of Spiritual Gifts so as to make them of no more worth than ordinary natural endowments? Not in the least. They are still supernatural. They remain to this day the Divine-appointed manifestation of the Holy Spirit in and through the Church (see
I Cor. 12:7-11). They have their basis in a genuine inspiration, but that inspiration is not on a level with the inspiration of the Scriptures.” (Montanism, Donald Gee, 1928).

Have I not written to you Excellent things in Counsel and Knowledge, that I might make you to know the Certainty of the Words of Truth; that you may answer the words of truth to those who send to you?” (Proverbs 22:20,21)
Every word of God is pure: He is a shield to them who put their trust in Him. Add not to His Words, lest he reprove you, and you are found to be a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5,6)

William Branham's teachings directly contradicted much of “that which is written” in the “holy scriptures” (I Cor. 4:6; II Tim. 3:15). Branham said, “I saw seven angels in the form of a pyramid that swept down, picked me up and was brought east to open the seven seals of God” (Commissioned by Seven Mighty Angels). But in contrast to Branham's teachings the apostle John said, And I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in Heaven, or in Earth, neither under the Earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.” (Rev. 5:1-4).

Verses five and nine tells us that The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who is “worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof.” William Branham, and also the Branch Davidians
and the Heaven's Gate cult all believed that they were chosen by God to “open the seven seals. Their teachings, which contradict the Holy Bible, were ALL from the same source – the father of lies (John 8:44).

And other false doctrine being propagated by modern-day ‘seers’ and ‘prophets’ referred to as “the close of the Gentile Times”. As far as God “closing the door of grace” to the world, the Bible assured us “that whosoever shall call on the Name of The Lord shall be Saved and Jesus Himself assured us saying “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Acts 2:21; Matt. 28:20). The “close of the Gentile Times” is not a new idea or new “revelation”
it is a false doctrine that various cults like the Jehovah's Witness organization and others have been teaching for over a hundred years (God's Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, 1973, p. 330).

Two things you must consider here, our Bible distinctly says that there is
"ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MAN
and that is JESUS"
BECAUSE HE IS THE SON OF GOD and THE SON OF MAN.
HEAR ye HIM, so you are never swayed by "Winds of Doctrines"

Are we called to PROCLAIM THE LORD or a 'Prophet?'
You must Decide!

Where’s Your Allegiance?

Those with religious mania know no reason,
to forsake their leader would have to be treason.
They twist the scriptures to their end,
I subscribe to Jesus the Friend of Friends.
To discuss things with them, there is no gain,
it will cause you pain time and again.
Just seek to stay on solid ground,
Jesus’ Words alone are the Best to be found.
I will not stoop to their discourse on life,
I wish to stay out of conjecture and strife.
My ears are strictly for the King of Kings,
He is my Prophet, Priest and King.
I ascribe to Him Praise, the Ancient of Days,
so cease your mania and look again.
To the One who died for us,
do not harass and fuss.
You are out of line and ignorant of Time,
God trusted only Jesus for His Church and End-Time.
Is not Salvation important to you
who forsake His Truth in the name of truth?
I will not forsake His Truth for a Lie,
Jesus is my life to the day when I die.
Those without restraint always find complaint
with our Freedom in Jesus who came to Redeem us.
It’s never enough for them, they seek to confuse,
Delusion is subtle, let this not  be you.
You don’t have to please them, you never will,
Just Him who gave His Life for You on Calvary’s Hill.
He alone has the Keys to my heart
my full allegiance, I will never part.
It was always Jesus right from the start.
